A tune or two

Thanks to Jim in Vancouver for sending along this great video of his mother celebrating her 97th birthday with a few tunes on the piano.

Music brings such joy, doesn't it? As I told Jim, Grandma Clark reminds me of my own mother who, at the age of 100, would go down to the common room at her retirement home to play the piano for "the old folks" (her words).

  1. There's a couple of people at my Mom's nursing home who play the piano too and I know everyone enjoys it so much.

  3. This is my Aunt Ada, my Mothers sister, when we would visit, we would be wakened in the morning by Ada on the piano, then a bear hug...she gave lessons on various instruments, Jim is my cousin, we have many great memories of visiting, usually at Gramma and Grampas house...Grampa would always sit at the kids table, steal your mashed potatoes and gravy with his fingers, have us kids shrieking...Grampa was the only one who ever got sent away from the table, and he got sent away every time...by Gramma...he would throw nickels and dimes down in the grass in the back yard, then call us kids to see what he'd found, we'd spend the next hour scrambling around the grass looking for mysterious moolah, Ada in this picture looks alot like Grampa :)
